Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus is drawing me in at present, there are so many things to learn from this book. In this short section we see the depths of Paul’s concern for this church “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit . Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too greatTo understand fully, then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God”
May your roots grow down into God’s love and keep you strong
Ephesians 3 vs. 14-19 – Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Paul knew what it was to trust in God and to receive the empowering of his Spirit, he knew how to God serve
He knew what it was to suffer, to be bound in prison, yet he knew the inner strengthening of the Spirit
May I no longer live, but Christ live in me was his stated aim, he knew how to trust in Christ without reserve
He knew the struggles the Church at Ephesus faced and encouraged them to have strength through the Spirit
We like the Ephesians are challenged to place our trust in Christ to seek his Kingdom whilst here on earth
Paul firmly believed that as we look to God to help us, we can empowered with inner strength through his Spirit
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love
And keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide
The promise of Christ making his home in our hearts as we place in him our trust, will bring help from above
We like the tree planted by the water need to drink of his word, to meditate upon it, and it in us will reside
Our strength is not in power or might; rather it is in the Spirit who enables us to comprehend God’s love
For his love to us is unreserved, unconditional, as far from the east is from is the west, is how wide
How long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great
To understand fully, then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
The love of God is beyond total comprehension, like Paul we need to cling onto the truth and seek God’s seat
To approach God with awe, to be totally open before him; and to seek his face, acknowledging Christ as Lord
God desires that we be brought into completion, to have his fullness and power, he alone can make us complete
He who began a good work in us is worthy of our trust, our love, our lives, may we experience the power of God
